My friend Molly and I purchased an Indigo Kit from Graham Keegan’s website. After stirring the Indigo, Iron and Lime together with warm water, we let the mixture ferment overnight. The next day, we used linen, cotton and muslin to dip into the Indigo Vat.
Indigo dye comes from several different varieties of the Indigo plant but the most common is known as Indigofera Tinctoria.
As you lift the fabric out of the dye *magic happens* the color of the fabric goes from green to blue as the dye oxidizes from reacting to the air outside of the vat.
